What This Crypto Profit Calculator Measures

This calculator focuses on one trade question: after buy price, sell price, investment amount or coin quantity, and fees, did the crypto trade produce a net profit or a net loss?

It is designed for simple arithmetic checks before comparing the estimate with your exchange records. It does not forecast token prices, estimate future growth, or replace official tax records.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Choose investment amount mode if you know how many dollars you put into the trade.
  2. Choose coin quantity mode if you know exactly how many coins or tokens you bought.
  3. Enter the buy price, sell price, buy fee, sell fee, and any additional exit cost.
  4. Review net profit or loss, ROI, final sale value, total fees, break-even sell price, and the three sell-price scenarios.

Methodology and Formulas

Coin quantity calculation: in investment amount mode, coin quantity equals investment after buy fee divided by buy price. In coin quantity mode, coin quantity is the number entered by the user.

Buy fee treatment: in investment amount mode, the buy fee reduces the amount used to buy coins. In coin quantity mode, the buy fee is added to the total cost of acquiring the entered quantity.

Sell fee treatment: the sell fee is calculated from the gross sale value. Additional exit costs are subtracted after the sell fee.

Profit, ROI, and Break-Even

Net profit formula: final sale value minus total cost basis.

ROI formula: net profit divided by total cost basis, multiplied by 100.

Break-even sell price formula: total cost basis plus exit costs divided by coin quantity, then adjusted for the sell fee rate.
